Performing Arts

Performing Arts forms one of the most popular extra-curricular experiences of the school. There is a lot of focus on knowing various dance styles and students have multiple opportunities throughout the school year to shine in the spotlight.

In particular, the school holds biannual dance workshops in collaboration with the Shiamak Davar Institute of Performing Arts. The students learn the intricacies of Jazz, Salsa, Hip Hop and so on and present a show as the grand finale of each workshop. Additionally, all children must participate in the Annual Day as we believe that it plays a large role in building confidence. Students compete at intra and inter school, inter state and national levels. We also offer Dance as a subject in the IB curriculum. The various styles on offer include Classical, Folk, Western, Modern, Contemporary and Choreography.

JPIS also has a tie up with the International Drama Academy that seeks to hone the creative and performing arts skills of children. The theatre workshops offered by the Academy allow children to indulge their theatrical skills to the fullest.

Whether students want song or symphony, our music faculty ensures that the interests of all students are covered through classes in keyboard, guitar, drums, violin, sitar, tabla etc. There are classes in over 30 instruments offered in the school.

JPIS aims to inculcate the skill of communication in all its students. With that in mind, we encourage all students to participate in Model United Nations Conferences and Debates. Elocution is an important part for the development of a students personality.
