Visual Art
Visual Arts At Jpis: Creativity With Purpose
At Jayshree Periwal International School, Visual Arts is not just a subject — it is a powerful language of thought, identity, and transformation. Our program inspires students to explore their imagination, express complex ideas, and create art that speaks — not just aesthetically, but emotionally and intellectually.
A Strong Foundation With Global Vision
Art is offered across multiple levels:
- As a medium to nurture the child intellectually, emotionally, socially, and culturally in the early years. Students explore techniques, colors, forms, and textures in playful, skill-building ways.
- As a rigorous academic discipline in Cambridge IGCSE Art & Design, where learners develop technical command and visual inquiry through coursework and observational studies.
- As a higher-order conceptual engagement in IBDP Visual Arts, where students investigate global art movements, create personal exhibitions, curate portfolios, and defend their artistic vision through written reflection and curatorial rationale.
Diverse Mediums, Expansive Ideas
Our studios are buzzing with creativity across traditional and contemporary mediums, including:
- Painting and Collage
- Sculpture, Clay Modelling, and Ceramics
- Photography, Digital Media, and Graphic Design
- Installation Art and Craft projects that often incorporate recycled or found materials
- Experimental forms that blend technology, storytelling, and activism
From brushstroke to pixel, our students are encouraged to question, respond, innovate — and most importantly, to create with meaning.
Showcasing Talent: Art with Heart
One of our most beloved traditions is our ‘Art with Heart’ Annual Exhibition, a vibrant showcase where students exhibit their work for parents, peers, and the larger community. Each piece tells a story — often inspired by personal experiences, social issues, environmental concerns, or cultural heritage.
Our artists also compete and shine in numerous interschool and national-level art contests, consistently earning praise for originality, technique, and thought-provoking themes.
